European Parliament
Charles Tannock (ECR ),
Blue-card question.
Mr President, Mr Griffin has a liking for Iran with its existential threats to the state of Israel. The words ‘neo-Cons’ and ‘Zionist’ were a bit of a giveaway, I am afraid. That is where, I am afraid, he and his party come from politically. But I wanted to ask him a more serious question relevant to the debate. If he believes that Iran is pursuing a peaceful option for its nuclear programme, what on earth does it need 20 – or even 50 – percent enriched uranium for?
