I voted for the report on women’s situation in war because it calls for the prevention of abuse against women during conflicts and for their involvement in peace processes. In a situation where women continue to be the main victims of armed conflicts, with gender violence very often being used systematically as a war tactic, strategies are required to prevent these acts of violence, to afford protection and assistance to victims and to prosecute the perpetrators.
