European Parliament
Mairead McGuinness (PPE ),
in writing.
– Since 2008, unemployment has increased significantly in the European Union, with 23 million people unemployed across the Member States, corresponding to 10% of the working age population. This report places particular emphasis on the effects of austerity measures on the labour market and youth unemployment in particular, which across the EU stands at more than 5.5 million young people, or about 22.3% of the entire youth workforce, according to the latest statistics. I support this report.
