– I would first like to congratulate the Cornelissen report for its focus on growth-enhancing measures as a long-term solution to address the current economic challenges. I welcome the promotion of active inclusion policies which create sustainable job creation and job quality, and the need to coordinate budgetary growth with employment measures so as to generate long-term economic recovery. I also want to emphasise the importance of investment in effective education and training as a way to tackle skills mismatches, alongside further integration of young people, women, migrants and older people into the labour market. Lastly, I believe that, through the reinforced social dimension in this report, the new Annual Growth Survey can maximise the Europe 2020 goals and add value to the European Semester.
