I voted against the resolution on Hungary because, in my view, this House did not act in accordance with its values when it condemned the Hungarian Government while the investigation by the Commission was still under way, and without allowing the government to answer the charges. The government has expressed its willingness to address the Commission’s concerns. That is why this gesture looks more like politically motivated humiliation than a genuine concern for European values.
