European Parliament

I voted in favour. Thirty million people in the European Union are blind or have visual or reading impairments, but only 5% of books are printed in a format they can read (in rich countries, that is; in poor countries, the rate is only 1%). Today, the European Parliament has spoken with a clear voice in the context of the oral question through which the MEPs called on the European Commission and the Council of the European Union to stop hindering the adoption of a binding international treaty to improve access to books for blind people and people with visual or reading impairments.
