– The objective of the agency is to ensure that essential public interests are properly defended and represented in connection with the European Union’s satellite navigation programmes (Galileo and EGNOS). The aim of Galileo is to provide a modern European alternative to the established GPS system of the United States of America. The agency is responsible for managing and monitoring the use of the programme’s funds. It will help the Commission deal with any matters relating to satellite radionavigation.
