The ENIAC Joint Undertaking was established for a 10-year period on 20 December 2007 to define and implement a ‘research agenda’ for the development of key competences for nanoelectronics across various application areas. The Court of Auditors should be asked to provide Parliament with a special report, within a reasonable timescale, on the benefit of establishing joint undertakings to carry out EU research, technological development and demonstration programmes in an efficient manner. With this observation, I voted to approve the accounts submitted by the European Commission, thereby granting the ENIAC Joint Undertaking discharge for its 2010 accounts.
