– While the provision of safe water is essential, too much focus has been placed on building new reservoirs and pipelines from new sources, thus disregarding existing networks which may see current water supplies degrade. The policy derives from the UN’s global socialist position that the world’s water supply is a collective responsibility and poses it as a ‘human rights’ as opposed to a ‘civil rights’ issue. There are inherent dangers to forging an almost Communist stance on the supply of such a vital commodity.
