– Abstention. On the one hand, eCall could contribute to improving emergency services in certain cases. On the other hand, the Commission has so far refused to propose efficient measures on accident avoidance, such as stricter speed and alcohol limits. The Greens/EFA asked for more detailed information on the eCall infrastructure costs and who would pay them. We also asked for better measures on interference with eCall in terms of false or imprecise information in case of an accident. The answers were unsatisfactory and our amendments on these items were rejected.
