Making investment in Europe more attractive requires the implementation of measures and reforms at both European and national level. To make investing and working in Europe more attractive, it is vital to create conditions whereby companies can enjoy a climate of fair and open competition. The internal market is one of the EU’s main priorities for developing a favourable climate that encourages companies and consumers. It is vital to promote the two ways of attracting investment: a) making Europe an attractive destination for foreign investors; and b) making the business environment attractive for local entrepreneurs. I therefore voted for this report, as I believe,
inter alia
, that it is essential to develop the EU’s human capital by modernising labour markets and the education systems of the Member States, and by promoting the mobility of students, researchers, professors and workers.
