I believe that the opinion of the Court of Justice is important. However, many speakers have already emphasised the fact that this is also a political decision. I think that the political decision depends on when the Commission finally submits a proposal for updating copyright regulations. Ultimately, it is also about the question of how we deal with monitoring organisations which often impose unfair penalties on digital consumers and of what rights providers will have in future with regard to the distribution of content. This is the basis which we should be working on. Therefore, I am also in favour of postponing tomorrow’s vote. Only when we in this House have come to a consensus about how we will take the area of intellectual property rights forward will we be ready to reach a decision. We must do our homework first and then decide.
