This report focuses on the successive reforms of the CAP which have increased market orientation for agriculture while providing income support to producers, so that now the same reform process has raised demands for a better distribution of support among and within Member States, as well as calls for a better targeting of measures aiming at addressing environmental challenges and better addressing increased market volatility.
As for young farmers this report suggests that Member States should stick to the 25% increase in the direct payments that the Commission is proposing but the rapporteur is also suggesting that there should be a limit on this increase of 50ha for all EU farmers, with which I agree and therefore I supported this report with my vote.
