European Parliament

I voted in favour of this report and I am particularly happy about the fact that we have noted the proposal to increase appropriations under the European Neighbourhood Instrument. It is absolutely imperative that we address the needs of countries facing major political and economic changes in our neighbourhood. I welcome the focus on the Eastern Partnership. I agree with colleagues that the Commission’s reporting on the application of the ‘more for more’ principle is somewhat insufficient. The EC should indeed develop clear criteria for how this policy is to be implemented.
